The monument on Kashima Island

Having the hope that Kashima Island preserved forever, Kumagusu composed a poem. Thick forest
as a backdrop, the monument was erected exactly on the place where Emperor Hirohito had landed.
You, the wind
      Blow cautiously not to damage
Even a twig in this wood which,
                  Our father, the Emperor loved.
